In this study, you will be prompted to watch a demonstration, complete the APP-QSAT, and answer 3 short questions.

PRIMARY ASSESSMENT

ABCDE approach: Airway, Breathing, Circulation, Disability-GCS, Environment Requests monitoring and VS: HR, BP/Spo2/RR/Temp), blood sugar Rhythm Assessment: identify ST Identify Problems: vocalize PE with cardiogenic shock vs. sepsis IV/IO/CVC access: ask for PIV and plan for CVC

DIAGNOSTIC ACTIONS

Obtain targeted history: Gather HPI, PMH, Medication List, Allergies Physical exam focus assessment: Assess the Knee, Leg. US for cardiac Bloodwork: order CBC, CMP, hepatic panel, INR/PTT, lactate, VBG, ABG Imaging: order CXRAY, CTA, EKG Extended Data : Request Ultrasound, CVC, Aline

THERAPEUTIC ACTIONS

Priority Intervention: Prioritize US and CTA Chest Medications: IVF resuscitation, levophed, heparin drip, antibiotics Address lab results: request lab results and provide intervention if necessary Address imaging results: Address CTA chest results Appropriate consult: IR consult, ICU consult

COMMUNICATION

Introduction: Introduces self, demonstrates situational awareness Communication: communicates concisely through SBAR, functions as a collaborative team member Prioritization: establishes resource utilization, prioritizes safety measures, anticipates next steps and plans Leadership: Establishes workload distribution, ownership of the situation Consultation: Present consults clearly or instructs another member to call
